JOB SUCCESS
Congratulations to Hannah Gough, one of our old girls. Hannah successfully applied for the post of Head of Dance at The Westlands School in Kent. It’s a post with a lot of responsibility teaching GCSE, A-level and Key Stage 3 Dance in a school of 1600 pupils. Hannah danced with us and gained her Advanced 1 exams in ballet, tap and modern before doing a Degree in Dance at Truro and Exeter. She is now completing her PGCE year. We wish her all the very best and look forward to her coming home to give us some workshops.

PUPIL NEWSOne of our old boys, Joss Arnott, recently came back to teach a hip-hop/commercial jazz (the jazz you see backing dancers doing on music videos) workshop to the Friday night girls. Joss originally came to us after starting A-level dance at Cornwall College with Melissa. He’d never danced before, but within a term he was doing ballet and jazz with us, a year later he’d gained Distinction for Grade 5 Modern and successfully auditioned for the Cornwall Youth Dance Company, and within two years he’d got into Laban (a top full-time contemporary school) and London Studio Centre (the same but doing Musical Theatre). Since going away he's danced with Pink, Kelly Rowland and Emma Bunton to name but a few. It was a great workshop and Joss said he was really impressed at how quickly the girls picked up the routines.
